Awareness and Training

 

Awareness, capacity building, and training form the backbone of Arunachal Pradesh’s trade development efforts. The Department is committed to equipping farmers, entrepreneurs, exporters, and SHGs with the knowledge and skills required to compete in domestic and international markets.

 


 

Training Programmes

 

  • Export Procedures & Documentation: Conducted in collaboration with the Indian Institute of Foreign Trade (IIFT), Kolkata, enabling entrepreneurs to understand global trade requirements.

  • Packaging & Shelf-Life Extension: Workshops with the Indian Institute of Packaging (IIP), Kolkata on scientific packaging for oranges, spices, apples, and kiwi to preserve quality during long-distance trade.

  • Sector-Specific Trainings:

    • Rubber plantation and processing (in collaboration with the Rubber Board of India).

    • Handicrafts and handlooms marketing.

    • Agro-horticultural product value addition.

 


 

Capacity Building

 

  • Handholding Support: Guidance on market access, branding, and compliance with international standards.

  • Exposure Visits & Exhibitions: Sponsorship of SHGs, NGOs, and entrepreneurs to national exhibitions and trade fairs.

  • Skill Development Modules: Tailored courses on entrepreneurship, financial management, digital marketing, and logistics.

 


 

Awareness Campaigns

  • District-Level Campaigns: Designed in collaboration with the Federation of Indian Export Organisations (FIEO) and the Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) to create awareness about export potential at the grassroots level.

  • Border Trade Awareness: Campaigns in border districts to encourage formal participation in cross-border trade and reduce reliance on informal exchanges.

  • Gender-Specific Awareness: Initiatives under Gender Budgeting to promote women’s participation in economic activities and connect them to broader markets.

 


 

Impact

Through its awareness and training programmes, the Department has:

  • Trained hundreds of farmers and entrepreneurs across multiple districts.

  • Built capacity among women entrepreneurs and SHGs.

  • Created a pool of skilled individuals capable of engaging with national and global markets.
