The Department of Trade & Commerce, Government of Arunachal Pradesh, is the nodal agency responsible for promoting trade, commerce, and exports in the state. With Arunachal Pradesh’s unique geographic position — sharing international borders with Bhutan, China, and Myanmar — the state holds immense potential to become a gateway for trade and economic cooperation under India’s Act East Policy.
Our mandate is to facilitate border trade, exports, entrepreneurship development, and women empowerment initiatives, ensuring that the benefits of economic growth reach every section of society.

To develop state-of-the-art infrastructure for trade and commerce.
To facilitate border trade with Bhutan, Myanmar, and China through identified trade routes.
To promote exports of agriculture, horticulture, handicrafts, handlooms, and forest products.
To empower women entrepreneurs and SHGs by providing them with opportunities to showcase and market their products.

Border Trade Development
Reviving traditional trade routes with Bhutan, China, and Myanmar.
Setting up border trade infrastructure like Land Customs Stations, markets, and border haats.
Export Promotion
Formulating state export strategies and district export action plans.
Conducting training on export procedures, packaging, and documentation in collaboration with national institutions.
Supporting exporters with IT-enabled platforms and GIS integration.
Women Empowerment
Sponsoring women-based SHGs, NGOs, and entrepreneurs to participate in exhibitions and trade fairs.
Maintaining year-wise beneficiary lists under Gender Budgeting to ensure transparency and inclusivity.
Providing financial support and marketing opportunities to women entrepreneurs.
Capacity Building & Awareness
Organizing awareness and training programmes for farmers, traders, SHGs, and entrepreneurs.
Handholding exporters through skill-building initiatives and technical assistance.
Sectoral Development
Promoting high-potential sectors such as rubber plantation, horticulture crops, handicrafts, and handlooms.
Conducting quality upgradation programmes in collaboration with national boards and institutes.
